Italian Sausage With Creamy Basil Sauce
2 lbs Italian sausage (I use mild) cut in chunks
6 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup basil pesto sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
8oz block mozzarella
Cook Italian sausage in skillet until cooked through. Add to oiled casserole dish.
While sausage is cooking mix soften cream cheese, basil pesto, & heavy cream.
Pour the sauce over the sausage and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake on 400 for about 10 minutes until the cheese is melted. If you’d like to broil watch constantly to ensure it does not burn.
Served warm
